Only for you takes us on a journey through the later college years with Everleigh and Sam.  Unfortunately, grim and heinous crimes are occurring on campus, and this leads to the girls feeling extremely vulnerable.

Sam talks Everleigh into taking a free campus sanctioned self defense course, and this is where we meet Hunter Charles for the first time.  What an introduction!!!

Only for you follows Everleigh as she learns about life, love and unconditional care and support.  Everleigh is a witty, loveable character who is full of sass.  For me Everleigh is very personable because we share an addiction of sorts - her love of coffee, and desperate need for it before she even begins to function had me feeling her!!

Together Everleigh and Sam are perfect friends, they are BFF's in the true sense, they support each other and they overshare in the best possible ways.  Only For You was almost as much about Sam as it was about Everleigh, which perfectly sets the scene for book 2 in this series.

Hunter is a gorgeous martial arts expert who while spending all his time with Everleigh is still closed off.  The warning alarms sound - what could he be hiding?  But Everleigh doesn't listen.   Their journey is fraught with many obstacles in their way to a Happy Ever After.

This was Genna Rulon's debut novel i do believe.  It is a full novel at almost 390 pages.  It is a page turner - Genna's tone, style and prose are complementary to the reader - with no fault in the seamless storytelling. Genna enabled enough detail in the characters backstory for you never to assume the depths of a relationship and how it connected.  The secondary characters were fabulously written, enabling the reader to develop an affinity with them all.  I am excited to see where Griffin and Sam head in Pieces For You (due for release in December 2013).

The storyline while grim was intriguing, and more about the dynamics of relationships than the horrors that unfolded.  The humour and sarcasm was perfectly inserted, keeping a sense of lightness when needed, and some laugh out loud moments.  My only complaint with this story - was i found the plot outcomes predictable.  There was likely one element - in a number of twists - that i didn't predict, and that disappointed me slightly, because i really wanted that adrenaline to build and my heart to race, such was the talent of Genna's writing, but it didn't. 

This is a new adult romance/thriller and it perfectly fits that genre.  The sexual tension is palpable, but the sexual details sparing.  This didn't detract from the story - but man i would love to meet Hunter all 'grown up' if you know what i mean!!!!!  Congratulations Genna on a well written, entertaining novel.

I'm a twenty six year old book junkie who is also obsessed with sports. Bengals, Buckeyes, Reds are my teams! I work for the government during the day, hang out with Air National Guard on the weekends, and am married to a guy 15 inches taller than me. We're quite the pair! Excerpt


I look around the bar and immediately spot him. Holy shit, he’s even more gorgeous than before, I think as my eyes roam over him. My heart races like I’ve just run miles to get here, and my eyes cannot move from his. He looks just like Jace, but not the one I remember. He’s older, and rugged, not quite like the high school senior I remember. My eyes widen as I take in the bicep I’m pretty sure I couldn’t wrap my hand around. Hello muscles, I think as I try to force away the image of him hauling me up into his big arms and having his way with me. 

I shake the thoughts away as I sweep my eyes over the rest of him. He’s wearing a plain black t-shirt that showcases the definition in his arms, and I can’t look away. I swear he flexes a little when he sees me looking as I witness a thick vein stretching across his forearm. I can see the beginnings of a tattoo peeking out from under his right sleeve, and I’m dying for further inspection. His dark hair is buzzed short in a standard military-style cut and his jaw is more squared than I remember.  His full lips attract my attention as he wraps them around the beer bottle he’s taking a drink from, and I involuntarily shudder at the memory of where those lips have touched me. 

His blue eyes penetrate mine as he’s watching me, but his face is blank, so I have no idea if he even recognizes me. Bullshit, he knows exactly who you are. His eyebrows are drawn together, and I watch him take a deep breath as he plays with his beer bottle. Ryan sets me on the ground, and I take this chance to look down and turn away from him. I barely register what Ryan and Jeremy are talking about when Sierra grabs my hand and drags me to the bar.

A dazzling smile greets me as my eyes meet the bright blue ones of the friend Rugged Man had been sitting with. Yes, I’ve deemed him Rugged Man, because I never got his name, and I-Want-To-Take-Him-Home-And-Play-Naughty-Nurse-Until-He-Makes-Me-Come Man is just way too much of a mouthful…come to think of it, I bet he’s a mouthful, too. Blue Eyes clears his throat again, and I can feel the crimson blush creep onto my cheeks as I push the erotic thoughts out of my mind. 

“Hey, Charlotte, right?” he asks, and I groan to myself, wondering if Rugged told his friend about my less-than-stellar flirting abilities.

Taking a drink of my beer, I swallow before answering. “Yes, I’m Charlotte. I’m assuming your nameless friend over there told you that,” I comment, tilting my beer towards the table where his two buddies sit.

He laughs and nods, and on any other day I’d probably be swooning at the sight of him. Unfortunately, I saw the other guy first, and despite his rejection, I still want him. Setting his crutches against the bar, he studies me before holding his hand out. I place mine in it, and his strong fingers close in around mine as we shake hands. 

“Jace McAllister. Look, I couldn’t help but over hear your… non-conversation earlier, and I just wanted to tell you that it’s not you.”

Not able to contain my laughter, I nearly choke on the sip of beer I just took. Rubbing my hands over my face, I cannot believe what I’m hearing. “Oh, Jesus. Fucking custodians and now the brush off? Are you seriously giving me the ‘it’s not you, it’s him’ line, for your friend? Please, God, tell me this is not happening.”

 Two weeks later, he packed his belongings and stole his way into Fin’s room. She wasn’t there, so he stretched out on her bed, hands tucked behind his head, eyes trained on the ceiling, and waited.
It was midnight when she came through the door, giggling as she read a message on her phone. Finished, she tossed it on her bedside table and froze when she caught him lying there in the dark.
He heard her breath catch. “Ryan?”
The lamp by her bed switched on, coating the room in a warm, cozy glow. Fin was illuminated, her skin golden in the soft light, her cheeks flushed with happiness.
“What are you …” She trailed off after meeting his eyes. He knew what she saw. He couldn’t hold any of it back—regret, heartache, and loss for something that had never been his.
“You’re leaving,” she choked out.
Ryan couldn’t speak. He watched her stride to the open window, its sheer white curtains billowing. Staring out into the night, she wiped away tears that spilled over and ran down her cheeks.
He blinked, his own eyes burning. “I’m sorry,” he said eventually.
Fin turned and walked across the room. Sinking to the edge of the bed, she stared down at her hands. “When?”
Ryan unlocked his hands from behind his head and reached for her, pulling her down beside him. She stretched out, tucking her head under his chin. Closing his eyes, he breathed her in, allowing his arms to wrap around her. “In the morning.”
Fin’s hand fisted in his shirt as she let out a sob.
“I have to do this,” he whispered hoarsely. He trailed his fingers through her hair and touched his lips to her forehead.
She started to wipe away the tears on her face, and Ryan took hold of her hand, stilling her. “You understand, don’t you, Fin, why I have to do this?”
Ryan needed to know that she understood he wasn’t leaving her, he was leaving his past, and trying to build a new future with the Army.
“I do.” She choked again and buried her face in his neck, sobs breaking free.
“Don’t,” he whispered thickly. “Please don’t cry. You have such a big future ahead of you. You’re going to do big things with your life. Don’t let anyone stop you from being who you need to be, okay?”
Fin nodded into his neck.
Ryan pushed back so he could look her in the eye. He wouldn’t be there to watch over her anymore, so he needed to know she would look out for herself. “Promise me, Fin.”
“I promise.”
Satisfied, he reached out and switched off the lamp. Thrust into sudden darkness, Ryan laced his fingers in hers and held her close. When her tears dried up, she drifted off into a deep slumber. In the early hours of the morning, he pressed a soft kiss to her cheek, and disentangling himself, he left the room. Having already said his goodbyes to Mike and Julie earlier in the evening, Ryan clicked the door shut softly behind him and left the house, careful not to look back.
That was the last he saw of Finlay Tanner.

Inevitable by Angela Graham has a cliffhanger ending and is the 1st of three books, so you may want to make sure all three books are available before you start reading, if you are someone who likes to know what happens next immediately.

Cassandra Clarke has sworn off all men for the past year after finding her boyfriend of 5 years in bed with the town floozy.  But the sexy smirk of her new neighbour, Logan West has her a little hot under the collar and a little bit hotter in her dreams. Too bad he is the biggest playboy to ever set foot into the small town of Harmony. 


Inevitable by Angela Graham is a magnificent romantic story that deals with two vulnerable characters who have had their trust in love crushed by the ruthless actions of others. Inevitable focuses on the slow destruction of the walls both Logan and Cassandra have built around their hearts as they fight their attraction to each other and slowly become best friends.

Although this book starts with a cliche, it quickly surpasses all other books of its kind, letting the characters slowly build their relationship rather than have them fall straight into bed with one another. The emotional thread of this book is superb with the reader carried along side Cassandra and later Logan as they begin to open themselves up to the chance of love. It is beautifully written, with stunning prose and an underlying sexual tension that many romance books lack.

Cassandra is the perfect female character for this type of story. She has the vulnerability of the damsel in distress, but the strength and stubborness of a strong female character you can respect and would like to befriend. Most of the story is told from her perspective, which allows you to feel and react to situations with her.

Logan tries to bury his hurt in alcohol and sex and a false pretence of being uncaring. However his love for his small son and the support he gives to his sister belie the fact that there is another side to him. Angela Graham has made him irresistable with enough "damage" to make us women want to fix him, and enough "Prince Charming" to know it is possible. He oozes sex appeal and is a brilliant male character for a sizzling romance.

Minor characters are all well developed and help with the progression of the story. 

There was only one minor disappointment for me with Inevitable and it is a purely personal one. The change in narration late in the book from Cassandra to Logan.  It pulled me away from being immersed in the story, to reading the story and is so close to the end of the book, that I didn't fall back into the story as deeply as I had been prior to the change.
Angela Graham's Inevitable is a wonderful piece of writing, with a great storyline, a strong emotional pull and characters you can easily adore.

Iva's Review


Angela Graham's Irreplaceable continues the romantic story of Cassandra and Logan. 

Cassandra, once again, has fortressed her heart and she is now stubbornly denying any chance at reconciliation with Logan after he lost his head in a stressful situation. She keeps Logan at arms length, too afraid to even admit to herself that she is deeply in love with him. 

Cassandra has that perfect mix of logical but irrational thinking that makes her a real female character. You understand why she thinks something, but her conclusions and actions aren't always the best way to deal with the situation.

Logan's patience and determination to re-establish himself in Cassandra's eyes is breathtaking. That he errs from time to time, (because lets face it; no man on earth is perfect), gives him a wholeness that many other "book boyfriends" lack. Logan evolves emotionally from a very hurt and guarded man in the first book into a man of substance and worthy of winning the heart of the woman he loves.

Angela Graham has done a superb job at keeping her characters consistent and not rushing them along at a pace radically different from the first book. Her writing allows the book to flow, despite the slow unraveling of emotions by the characters. 

Cassandra is the more frustrating character in this book and you do get to the point where you wish she would take the risk of giving her heart knowingly. 

The other story threads, such as Oliver's mother, Caleb and Hilary's romance and Cassandra's father's abandonment are intriguing and show another facet of how well Angela Graham has thought about her story and the characters within it. They provide a necessary background to Cassandra and Logan's romance and add to tide of emotions weaved majestically through each chapter.

The ending to this book is another cliffhanger. I think there will be a change of pace with the next book as things heat up in and out of the bedroom.

I wasn't as involved with this book as I was Inevitable, mainly because it felt like one step forward, two back for the couple and I began to climb out of the dreamy haze the book initially had me in.
