Blindfold Fantasy takes all of the elements of DL’s previous
books that I love, and wraps them up in this wonderful and sexy story that
makes you swoon.
This is the story of Jayne, Devin and Blake. Throw in
Jayne’s best friend Roxy and this story keeps you on your toes.
This is a MFM Erotic Menage that DL makes seamless, the way
these characters fit and complement each other is perfect. They each have their own flaws, but the balance
of each of them makes those imperfections perfect.
Jayne is an architect who manages to secure a big
contract. This contract results in some
significant life changes for her and to celebrate, Roxy organises a fun time in
Vegas, complete with a gigolo to help Jayne ‘live a little’… While Jayne is resistant to the idea, she
eventually decides to go with it and the outcome changes things for her, that’s
for sure.
Blake is the hot bad boy who is best friends with Devin, a
little lost after his life takes a turn and who just happens to be the gigolo
Roxy has hired.
Devin is the reluctant CEO of Silverland industries who
needs his best friend and previous project manager to come back and help manage
Devin’s new project.
Devin and Blake have a long past together, which includes
business and pleasure.. so when circumstances come to pass that require some
creative management, Devin steps in.
When you think about book boyfriends most people have a type
– some love the corporate rich alpha, others the tatted and pierced bad boy –
well hell Ms Roan has served both to us on a platter. I am definitely a Blake fan.. but when you
make a Blake and Devin sandwich – it makes for a very satisfied reader – just
sayin’.
Ms Roan has written a complex story that has many plot
points that keep you guessing well beyond the sex and relationship side of
things. The dynamics of the
relationships between all of the characters have such depth that the emotion is
bubbling off the page. Roxy is a
firecracker who truly needs her own story.
Jayne is the perfect mix for these guys, she is vulnerable, yet strong
and independent, she is giving and well – whodavthunkit – a little adventurous
as well!
Sex is a significant part of Ms Roan’s storytelling, but it
never solely dominates – each story is well crafted and so much more than an
erotic novel. Oh don’t worry – its
erotic – it is suggested that you read it next to your man – or your BOB… keep a supply of batteries handy – you know
just in case you like to watch… or read… or imagine… *fans self, it’s getting hot in here again,
let me step out on the balcony…. Or over to the window…. Or……… are
you starting to get the picture?*
Anyhoo – what can I say – I am a fan of Ms Roan’s work – if
you haven’t read Second Chances or Second Nature – get onto those ones! I also
have had the pleasure of getting to know DL through this blogging game and wish
her nothing but success. In the age of
full disclosure – you guys need to know that I have just a slight crush on her
awesomeness… that said – my thoughts
about this book are my honest ones.
I found this story easy to read – compelling in its telling
– the twists and turns added to the complexity of the storyline which made it
thoroughly enjoyable. I love DL’s style
and this story does not disappoint. I
did however also find that there were some elements of the story that I would
have appreciated being further explored, those being Roxy’s story and Blake’s
backstory. I personally found the relationship development very convenient and
felt like some additional angst was missing in the start. The angst that came later was needed yet I
felt this was explored and wrapped up a little too rapidly.
These are really minor critiques and fully my personal
preference. At the end of the day
Blindfold Fantasy was a thoroughly enjoyable read, and one that I can see
myself re-reading when I get the chance.
