Scarlett tilted her head up to look at me while she wiped her greasy hands on a rag. Leaning her backside against the hood of the car, she reached back, picked up her bottle of beer, and took a long pull as a droplet of sweat ran down her cleavage. My gaze immediately dropped to her neck as I watched the movement of her throat while she swallowed; the cool amber liquid sending my thoughts careening towards what else I would love to see her swallowing with that perfect mouth.
I snapped myself back to reality, and leaned in close to her as she shut her eyes, her breathing instantly picking up. She squirmed as I reached a hand out and wiped her cheek. She looked up at me confused. My eyes crinkled as I felt my lips form into a small grin. “You got grease on your pretty face.”
Scarlett took a small step back on wobbly legs. I nodded toward her boots and observed, “Got a pair just like those. Never seen ‘em lookin’ like that though.”
“Like what?”
Sauntering away from her, I smirked. “Sexy as fuck.”

Meet Mace and Scar… Together, they equal HOT!
Scarlett is a girl who knows what she wants and doesn’t conform to standardised expectations. She own Needle’s Kiss, a tattoo studio and her 2nd pride and joy, next to her car of course!
Mace is a big badass ex special ops soldier, and brother to Trip, one of Scar’s employees and friend.
When Mace and Scar first meet, sparks fly, and hormones surge! And from that point on its Game On! And play they do…
Both have their own baggage which affects their journey with each other – what starts as just sex, doesn’t run as smoothly as either of them would have liked.
This book started to tick all of the boxes for me. I loved that Scar did not take shit, stood up for herself and those she loved, and gave as good as she got, if not better in the attitude and smart mouth stakes! Mace was filled with all the aspects that make a HOT ALPHA BBF! He was delicious, and the authors ability to describe him, had my visuals working wonders!
The sex between the two was explosive, raw, passionate and let’s be honest – panty melting! Sounds great right? And it was – for a quick and dirty read!
I was a little disappointed because I loved these characters, and the secondary characters of Trip and Teeny, I loved all of them, but I just didn’t get enough of them. The complexities that make Mace Mace, and Scarlett Scar were so deep, that the brevity of the book left me hanging. The author gave us a taste of all of this history that coloured these characters, but it was just a taste. I would have loved to have been taken further into these elements of the characters. There is a twist, which connects some history – but even that story line, which was pivotal to Mace and Scar’s journey, was superficially covered.
The depth that was available had this book been longer, could have made Tattered Love an epic story rather than a really good one! With all of that said - This story hooked me, I laughed out loud numerous times, I loved the characters, and I cannot wait to read more in the Needles Kiss series!
