Kota & Iva's Author Advent Event - Day 4

About Stevie

I’ve been writing stuff for other people to see since I was just shy of five years old and read my cousin’s copy of ‘Charlotte’s Web.’ I wrote my glowing opinion (and a few study questions) all over the nice tan hardcover. *singing* I got to keep it, I got to keep it… (and I still have it. Somewhere.)

I’ll read anything. Books, magazines, cereal boxes, shampoo bottles, junk mail… and liner notes. Boy HOWDY on the liner notes! I’m a total rock music junkie, and collect old vinyl, ‘cause nothing can beat the intricate details you can see on a twelve-by-twelve album cover. But I don’t discriminate. You can’t pry my mp3 out of my hands most days.

When I’m not reading, I’m writing (both into the wee hours of the morning) and have an unfettered love affair with caffeine in all its magical forms.

I grew up in and around Cleveland, Ohio, spent most of a decade in Sacramento (and consider that home), and currently live in a suburb of Albuquerque, New Mexico with my husband and college-student son. By day, I peddle smut (Seriously, I do. I own an adult store/headshop) and screw around online. Facebook is a giant timesuck, and I love it there (StevieKisner), and you can also find separate (and still useless) ramblings on StevieKisner.com.

Waking up in Vegas

Coming 21 January 2014

Synopsis

I’m Tack Morgan, and I’m Las Vegas Magazine’s Sexiest Man. I’m the host of the most listened-to morning drive-time show on Vegas’s FM dial.
I’m also in therapy for sexual harassment.
My therapist is the one making me write this. The doc says it’ll help put things into perspective.
To be clear, I don’t have sexual harassment issues. I have sexual frustration issues.
And it’s totally not my fault.
That responsibility rests squarely with the person I’m being accused of harassing. I see her each and every weekday morning at the ungodly hour of 6 am.
Funny. I used to think that was the best time of the whole day. I lived for starting my mornings so early, not seeing my bed until many, many hours later.
Unless it was for recreation.
At the risk of sounding cocky, I recreated a lot.
Sex is my sport of choice. Or at least it was, until Jen waltzed through the station door and announced she was my new morning-show co-host.
I swear, she’s developed some sort of pheromone-canceling ESP that follows me around everywhere and cockblocks me at every turn. I haven’t gotten laid in… too long.
Honestly, I haven’t been keeping track.
Actually, yes, I have.
It’s been two months.
Coincidentally, that’s exactly how long Jensen McKenzie has been my co-host.
I don’t think my balls can get any bluer.

Interview with Tack Morgan - By Jensen McKenzie

Jensen: Good morning, Las Vegas! Jensen MacKenzie, here. As you already know, I'm the new co-host of WLUV's Morning Drive, and with me in the studio today—just like every other day—is Tack Morgan, infamous DJ and world-class man-whore.

Tack: Hey! I'm not infamous! Being me is anything but a bad thing.

Jensen: Okay, so “infamous” may not fit the bill. But I find it interesting that you’re not disputing the “man-whore” assessment.

Tack: Well, a guy doesn’t get to be an expert in his field without practice. Lots and lots of practice.

Jensen: Okay then! Anyhoo, our station manager thought it would be fun for our listeners to glean a bit of insider knowledge regarding our city's favorite on-air personality. So, let's get right to it, shall we? Tack Morgan. You've recently been named as Las Vegas Magazine's Sexiest Man... for the second time. Have you found the accolades have helped your, ah... career?

Tack: First, let me correct you- that would be the second time in a row. It's been three times altogether. And being the sexiest man in the city of sin is an honor. However, I find myself hung with big expectations because of it. But I can certainly rise to the occasion. Still, it's hard.

Jensen: Oh, I'm sure it is.

Tack: You have no idea, baby.

Jensen: Okaaaay... Next question. Sin City gets to hear your smooth, seductive voice every morning. How did Las Vegas end up being the place you call home?

Tack: You think my voice is seductive?

Jensen:  No! I was simply referring to how the listeners perceive your pipes.

Tack: Hmmmm.... Right.

Jensen: Jesus, Tack. Just stick to the interview, will you?

Tack: Fine. I'm a native Vegas guy, born and raised. I've had job offers for other places, but when you know the ins and outs of this city as intimately as I do... well, leaving would just be ridiculous. Las Vegas is who I am.

Jensen: You're Vegas, huh? So, people find you flashy and stand to lose everything with you?

Tack: I prefer to think of both me and Vegas as 'a guaranteed good time.'

Jensen: Ahem. Moving on now. You've been a DJ for...

Tack: Ten years altogether, counting the UNLV college station. Five years waking up the beautiful people of Las Vegas. With varying partners. Don’t look at me like that.

Jensen: Sigh. Yet you've never fallen victim to the stereotype of "Wacky Morning Host".

Tack: You don’t get to be the sexiest man in Las Vegas by being wacky. Is Robin Williams sexy? If you’re looking for someone to do a dance onstage in a stupid Speedo, tossing out CDs and concert tickets to the waiting fans, you’ll have to go talk to one of our sister stations. I prefer to have fun in… other ways.

Jensen: Hmm. I’m not going near that one. One last question for you, Tack. Do you ever think you'll find the right girl and settle down?

Tack: I don't think I'll ever “settle down”, per se. But a woman who can hold her own against me is a definite possibility. And there’s a good chance that I’ve found her already…

Sex, Love & Rock 'n' Roll Series

Dream Me Off My Feet

Synopsis

Dreams aren’t real.

Maybe…

What if the person in your dreams is a real someone you are meant to meet when your life is unraveling faster than a buzzing guitar string? And what if your salvation comes packaged as a rock ‘n roll legend?

Meaningless sex with nameless groupies has lost its luster. He knows that, someday, the spotlight will go dark and doesn’t want to find himself with only memories for company.

Part-time photographer Kori Connor is full-time frustrated that her life isn’t what she ordered. She doesn’t need another relationship. But now she’s juggling two ~ a real one, and the one that has her vacationing in some strange man’s head in her dreams.

When Kori agrees to pinch-hit for JT’s usual photographer, he doesn’t realize that her sight reaches further than just through the lens of her camera. When he learns her secret, can this rock star dream her off her feet?
