Lili St. Germain has written the Gyspy Brothers MC Series as a serial. This review post includes the following
Seven Sons
Six Brothers and
Five Miles
Seven Sons
Synopsis
My father was most certainly NOT an innocent man. As the leader of the Gypsy Brothers MC, he was guilty of many things. But he died for a crime that he didn’t commit, framed by an enemy within who then stole his club and everything he had ever worked to protect.
Including my innocence.
When Dornan Ross framed my father, he set into motion a series of events that could never be undone. My father was murdered by Dornan Ross and his sons when I was fifteen years old.
Before my father died, Dornan Ross and his seven sons stole my innocence, branded my skin and in doing so, ensured that their lives would be prematurely cut short. That they would suffer.
I’ve just turned twenty-one, and I’m out for blood. I'm out for revenge.
But I didn't expect to fall for Jase, the youngest brother in the club.
I didn't expect that he would turn my world upside down, yank my heart out of my chest and ride away into the sunset with it.
Now, I'm faced with an impossible choice - Jase, or avenging my fathers death?
Kota's Review
This is the first installment of Sammi’s (aka Juliette) life story leading her to the path of revenge. This story is released in a serial format. Please know this going in, as each installment is brief, but intense, and you will need to invest in each ‘episode’ which can prove costly.
In Seven Sons, we meet all of the key players in this story. Dornan Ross is the president of the Gypsy Brothers Motor Cycle club, a position he essentially stole. Dornan’s sons are all entrenched in the MC lifestyle and are loyal soldiers to Dornan, however, then you have Jase, the youngest son. His story is somewhat different – but you would have to read it to find out what his story is.
This story is graphic, violent, brutal, and confronting. This story makes no excuses in its telling of violence against women. If you do not have the stomach for rape, murder and other unthinkable elements – don’t start on this journey!
Ms St Germain writes a compelling story. The writing is not perfect, but the story sucks you in. Sammi, while distant and aloof is a character that you engage with and want her to succeed at any cost. The characters will no doubt evoke an immediate love or hate dynamic with the reader. Some of these characters are so easy to hate it is frightening how much you feel that emotion.
Just as this installment reaches its climax, you are left wanting to know what next. Thank goodness Ms St Germain is releasing these in quick succession.. What will Six Brothers bring next…
4 hearts – the writing is not perfect,
and this is a serial
which I am not generally a fan of…
but
sucked in – yes I am!

Six Brothers
Synopsis
I have lied.
I have cheated.
I have given my body and my life to the man who destroyed my family and left me for dead.
I have killed, I have sinned, and worst of all, I have enjoyed the misery of others.
I have licked the salty tears of a father mourning his firstborn son, and nothing has ever tasted so sweet.
I have died, and I have been resurrected, a phoenix from the ashes.
I know I’m going to hell. I’ll burn in the fiery pits alongside Dornan and his sons for the things I’ve done, and for the things I’m about to do.
But I don’t care. It will be worth every lick of the devils flames on my guilty flesh to destroy Dornan Ross.
One down, six to go
Kota's Review
Holy F……uck! Ms St Germain really steps up the story in this installment. The violence is extreme, the threats terrifying.. the risks immeasurable. The relationships are being explored in much more depth and the connection to the characters is developing.
Sammi is observing the aftermath of the death of one of the Ross sons. How the family cope is fascinating to say the least –for me, in a way that disturbs me.
The stakes are definitely raised both of a personal and a vengeance front for Sammi, and it is clear that she needs to not lose herself to these men.
I was hooked in Seven Sons, but after Six Brothers – I need to know where this goes, and the concern I feel for Sammi/Juliette is palpable.
This installment gets 4.5 because of the adrenaline that was pumping! |
Five Miles
Synopsis
My father taught me the importance of an eye for an eye—a cardinal rule, ingrained in every club member.
A life for a life.
Seven lives in payment for an unimaginable list of sins.
People might wonder why I’m doing this. If this vengeance is borne from some noble cause. If I’m trying to prevent others from suffering at the hands of Dornan Ross and his sons.
But I’m no selfless vigilante.
I’m doing this for me. I’m doing it because I want to.
I’m doing this because I just want to be able to sleep at night without seeing their faces.
This is the fate they have earned. The penance for their crimes.
Time to send some of these brothers off with a bang.
Kota's Review
Five Miles picks up right where Six Brothers leaves us… Riding an emotional high and wonder WTF? Sammi, with some help, realises that her need for revenge is starting to mess with her head more than it should (well maybe..) She needs to up the ante and make things happen quicker.
Jase has been watching her closely and their relationship starts to take some turns. Sammi is taking risks and things are intensifying in her quest.
Dornan is as dominant as usual and with the death of more of his boys, war is brewing. Sammi’s lies are getting more intricate and harder to maintain but she is on a mission to succeed.
In Five Miles things change for ever, Sammi will do what is needed to protect those that mean something to her and the end of this installment – OH MY GAWD…..
The fourth installment is too far away – just saying.
Five Miles didn’t grab me as intensely as Six brothers and for that it drops back to 4 hearts, but don’t fear the story is still as intense as ever…. Bring it on I say!
