Dead sexy is a collection of 20 erotic supernatural short stories edited by Gwennan Thomas and published by Xcite Books Ltd.
Short stories are unique in that they must get your attention in the first two sentences and then hurl you towards an unexpected and impressive conclusion as it focuses on one conflict. An anthology is a great way to discover new authors and also introduce you to some different reading material.
Dead Sexy is full of original stories with a variety of supernatural characters all hot and bothered and desperate to sink into the oblivion of orgasm.
Each story in Dead Sexy is well written in regards to prose and there is no difficulty going from one story to the next. The compilation of stories by the editor is well thought out, with the first story breaking a reader in with a familiar paranormal character living in a modern world and a happy relationship.
The stories get more supernatural and more sexually descriptive as you make your way through the collection in a flow and ebb that mimics orgasm and I'm sure most readers will enjoy this book with their bedroom door locked! The final story brings us down from the high with a reminder that even a simple kiss with a stranger can come with a price.
In an anthology, a good story to me is one that you can remember amongst all the others. It has to be the entire story, and not just a scene or a character. The story needs to have weaved a spell on me from the first three sentences and have me unable to stop reading until I get to the end, where I feel satisfied with the conclusions. With erotic fiction if I feel the need for cold shower or other means of relief, you'll get a star or two for that as well.
This book is for those who like hard, fast, happy endings (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) and not those who like happily ever afters.
