Pictures of You by Lynsie Buchanan is a paranormal romance containing yummy wolves, magic and descriptive sex scenes.
Meadow Derringer is a Rheman who can dreamwalk. This basically means that she can step into the dreams of other rhemans. But Meadow has a secret, one if found out could take away what little freedom she has; she can go into the dreams of the wolves ....well one wolf in particular.
Gareth is an Alpha wolf and leader of his pack. For as long as he can remember his dreams have featured a beautiful red headed, violet eyed girl. He longs to claim her for real, but how will his pack respond to a rheman standing by his side as his mate and thus, their co-leader?
Wow! This is one of those stories that captivates you from the beginning, especially if you love paranormal romances featuring wolves. Lynsie Buchanan has given it a two person perspective and the the story flows well. The dialogue used adds to the characters and the story and helps it to progress.
Meadow is a loving daughter, aunt and sister. She has great respect for her family and for the dream walker community she comes from, but she is also feeling a little trapped by their expectations of her. She is a very likeable character and is very well written.
Lynsie Buchanan has written an alpha wolf character that rivals those written by Charlaine Harris and Kelley Armstrong. Gareth is the right mix of dominating leader and giving lover. Strong and determined, but with enough emotional vulnerability that he will have you clenching your inner thigh muscles during the "good bits".
Minor characters also add to the story's progression and give a reader a real insight into the main characters through their interaction with them.
So now for the let downs. I think another proof read is required before this book could be determined as finished. There are little errors throughout the book that are distracting. (At one point Gareth's name changes to Garret, and a minor character is replaced with another one midway through a scene. There is also a point were the tense changes from past to present.) These are minor things that can easily be fixed and would probably go unnoticed if the potential of the book to be brilliant wasn't as close as this one is.
Something not as insignificant is the way culminating plot points are resolved. Your heart starts to race, you're ready to launch yourself into a high action/ high emotion scene ... and it stops. You don't quite get the full emotional turmoil or ecstasy this couple's story deserves.
Lynsie Buchanan's book; Pictures of you, has the potential to be a best seller, not only through electronic sites but through book stores as well. It just needs some small adaptions and revisions. I definitely would have liked a different outcome in one of the plot points so a second book could have resulted, as the story really grabbed me. As it currently is offered it is still worth a read and I would recommend you add it to your reading list.
