Synopsis:
Olivia James has never been one to walk on the wild side, at least not until she meets Seth Marc—a cocky, sexy fighter at her father’s gym. He’s infuriating, nauseatingly addictive and she just can’t seem to shake him. He’s only been in town a short while and his name is already on everyone’s lips. He's the kind of guy moms’ warn their daughters about—the kind that leaves a trail of shattered hearts behind him and he has Olivia in his sights.
Olivia has never met anyone as confusing as Seth and his hot and cold attitude constantly sends her reeling. She’s never wanted anyone’s touch so badly in her life, but having recently come out of a long term relationship diving into another is something she'd prefer to avoid.
Determined for his touch, but not to let him under her skin, Olivia embarks on the most thrilling ride of her life

Review:
Olivia has very recently ended a 6 year relationship that was ended about 4 years too late. When she finally makes the call – she crosses paths with Seth, and the rest they say is history.
This story has been told before – in the sense of a fighter (Seth is an amateur MMA Fighter), alpha bad ass, meets good girl who is not a fan of fighting and they fall in love! Having said that, Consumed was a good take on this tried and tested plot line.
Olivia is in her early 20’s and she is trying to be as independent as possible, she is however a little immature and easily influenced by her best friend. Her father owns the local gym, and she is a regular visitor there!
Seth is a man with a past, he is sexy, and an arrogant arse who openly uses women for sex, of course they willingly line up to get used!! Seth is working through the amateur circuit with the dream of scoring a pro contract at the end of the amateur competition.
As for what I liked, I liked Seth, while he was an arse, once he saw something in Olivia, past sex, his character growth was appealing. The dynamics between Seth and his mum also made for an interesting side story line. I really appreciated the emotional interactions between Seth and Olivia.
As for Olivia, I wasn’t sure I liked her. I liked who she became with Seth, rather than liking her own personality as such, so I guess she grew on me at the end. I certainly felt for her with the emotive turn of events in her story.
Areas that didn’t quite work for me.. There were way to many unanswered questions about Seth, and his family, the taste of his story showed some insight and gave us a glimpse, but for me it wasn’t enough to truly understand his character. I also found the lack of responsibility in regards to employment and commitments came without consequences too often, so when there was a consequence, it felt unrealistic… It’s hard to expand on this without leaving spoilers, but I know what I am trying to say – so I hope you get me! Lol.. The secondary characters also have some potential, but I again, I liked some and not so much others.
Considering all of this – I will say that Consumed is a pleasant and enjoyable, and saucy read. Seth is hot, the sex is there, the love story is there, the happy ever after is there, but it just didn’t quite feel complete. Skyla writes well, it flowed and was an easy read, it kept me entertained but didn’t make my heart race.
