Review
The synopsis captures this story perfectly, there is little more I could tell you without spoiling it! I’m not sure about you guys, but I hate when a blurb is so secretive, that it becomes a little misleading. That problem does not exist here.
Erica is young, she is… well female, obviously, and she is trying to break into the social media market as the CEO of a start up fashion company. Erica is a strong, fiercely independent character, who makes an impact with her commitment and work ethic.
Blake also makes an impact, for all of the wrong reasons, his arrogance is unstoppable, his behaviour is incorrigible and Erica has become his target.
Erica meets Blake (and Max) when she presents her business to them and a board of potential investors, from that point on Erica’s life takes a number of different turns. See she is just out of college, so life goes on, she and her friends have to find their own path and Erica’s takes her in a direction that can’t help but collide with Blake.
Meredith Wild writes in a manner that sucks you in, this story was thoroughly enjoyable. It was not at all what I expected it to be. It was a nice change to the formula of Broken Alpha Male, innocent / broken needy girl. In this case, both Erica and Blake had pasts that affected who they were, and who they are. Blake was such an Alpha Male, dominant, manipulative, don’t take no for an answer Alpha Male, but Erica had a back bone! No one disputes the sexual chemistry was there, but when it counted, Erica was able to maintain her strength and her morals and confront Blake as needed, this was a really endearing trait of hers. The story also contained some good secondary characters and alternative plots to keep you interested throughout.
I did enjoy this story, however, it is Book 1 in a series, so that always leaves you with unanswered questions; It touched on some really tame BDSM ideas, but they were so tame (ie: some spanking) they seemed tokenistic and; it was told from Erica’s point of view, and so much was missed from Blakes side, that I didn’t fully understand his rationale for his behaviours. That said, the plot worked, the characters worked, and the tone and style of the author worked, and the twist was interesting!!!
As for rating, I am torn between was this a 3 ½ heart read, as in was it good.. or is it a 4 heart read, as in really good?
I am going with 4 hearts – I found it entertaining and more than a good read!

About the Author
Meredith Wild picked up her first romance novel at the tender age of twelve, and shortly after put pen to word processor and made her first attempt at writing a love story inspired by those she so enjoyed reading well past her bedtime.
Her dream of writing took a back seat to college, parenthood and eventually entrepreneurship, which led her into the fast-paced and male-dominated high tech industry. With enough life experience for a few lifetimes, she now devotes her hours to writing contemporary adult romance, with a hint of kink.
Her debut novel Hardwired tells the story of billionaire bad boy, Blake Landon, and the object of his obsession, strong-willed tech startup CEO, Erica Hathaway. Hardwired will be the first of the Hardwired Series, while writing is underway for the second installment, Hardpressed.
